Twin brothers Tom and Don Salmon don't need words to express their enthusiasm for classic American cars. Their massive collection of domestic sheetmetal, accumulated over four decades, speaks volumes.
If you share the Salmon brothers' passion and are itching to get your hands on a classic, you're in luck—the entire collection is heading for the auction block on June 16.
Mecum Auctions is set to offer the Salmon Brothers Collection, located in North Little Rock, Ark., at no reserve. The group of nearly 140 vehicles up for bidding includes an original 1957 Pontiac Bonneville (Lot S73), a rare 1957 fuel-injected Chevrolet Nomad (Lot S76) and a stunning 1934 Cadillact Fleetwood V12 All-Weather Phaeton (S81) that is one of only three ever produced, according to the auction catalog.
But that's not all. Bidders will also vie for several Chevy engines, Cushman scooters, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air parts car and the odd Harley-Davidson. A 1985 Honda Elite scooter, which appears to be in excellent shape, is the only foreign vehicle in the collection.
You must be a certified bidder to tour the collection, but you can register at the door. A $100 registration fee gets you access to the auction preview days (June 14-15) and the June 16 auction. The fee also includes a commemorative catalog detailing all of lots.
