| Guests dine in the Rolls-Royce Goodwood factory in England. |
A red-carpet affair with guests arriving via Rolls-Royce Phantom
cars (or helicopter), exquisite dining and music from the bombshell
quartet Escala. Sounds like an evening at the New York Metropolitan
Opera House, doesn't it?
Not quite, but the “Dine on the Line”
event on the floor of the Rolls-Royce Goodwood factory in West Sussex,
England, was a first for the company.
One hundred of Rolls-Royce's
most distinguished customers participated, with a few even trying their
skills at helping to assemble a Phantom extended-wheelbase model.
As
one might expect, it wasn't all panel beating and air ratchets for the
guests. They were treated to both the new Phantom Series II and vintage
Rolls vehicles from the 1930s, while getting to meet those who assemble
and create the cars.
Incidentally, the Phantom in the video is an
extended-wheelbase Phase II, but apparently not the one party guests
worked on. That's a shame; we'd love to see how that one turned out.
